HERMENEUTIC: SCRIPTURES UNSEALED
Rev. Rey Calusay starts Hermeneutics, one of the most important courses in BSM Online.
- A study of the art and science of Bible interpretation, defining its fundamental rules and laws and
applying them in the task of rightly handling the Word of truth. - An orientation to the basics of Bible interpretation also emphasizing the importance of discipline,
faithfulness and preciseness in the study of the Bible - The Scriptures as revelation from God was meant to be just that – a Revelation, a Disclosure. It was
- meant “to be opened” so everyone can read, know and feast on its wonders! It is not a sealed book that
- nobody can read and understand.
GOD MEANT THE SCRIPTURES TO BE UNDERSTOOD
The doctrine of The CLARITY OF SCRIPTURES: Simply means that the Bible can be understood in a
simple form by all believer’s. In fact, part of this doctrine even holds the belief that even unbelievers can
understand it, on an external level.
Even Infants can know the Scriptures. 2TI 3:15 “Remember also that even when you were a young child,
you learned what God says in the scriptures. These can teach you how Messiah Jesus saves us, when we
trust in him.” -UDB
“In contrast to the sacred writings of many other traditions, the Bible is meant to be read and
understood by all people, it is not too mystical for people to grasp. It complements the incarnation
nature of Christ, because both Christ and the Bible put the knowledge of God within our reach”. –

Inductive Bible Study “Oral Style”
People forget facts, but they never forget a great story. Stories have always been a primary means of communication. They are timeless links to ancient traditions, world views, belief systems and cultural values. The Bible is 70 percent stories. This course will walk the student through the process of “Inductive Bible Study “Oral Style” using the “Simply the Story” approach. This approach is effective because it helps people experience the story as they discover fresh and powerful treasures of the Word of God in the stories.
BEGINNINGS – FIRST BIBLE COURSE FOR THE SCHOOLYEAR

Early Biblical History is mainly an analysis of the first eleven chapters of the first book of the Bible focusing on beginnings. Hence, the course is promoted with the title “BEGINNINGS”. This is a foundational course for the student’s later study of the rest of the written revelation of God’s redemption plan. An introductory lesson will give the student the correct perspective of history in general and of Bible history in particular. Some theological truths and doctrines about God and His dealings with man will be highlighted. Some relevant facts, geographic and archeological data and will also be considered

“More than anything else today there is need that all our thinking be based upon and in conformity with the Holy Scriptures. This course is designed with the following objectives:
To show that the Christian Faith is Bible Faith
To show that the Bible is the sure foundation of Christian faith, that if there is deception or false claim, the Bible is the filter, the authority to purge it from error. ACT 17:11
BSM ONLINE SY 2022-2023 KICKS OFF WITH TWO CORE COURSES
BSM ONLINE SY 2022-2023 starts with two core courses; namely “Wisdom from Above” (Philosophy of Ministry) with Rev. Rey Calusay and “MAX Learning” (Effective Study Skills) with Rev. Zeny Calusay. The lessons in these two core courses when applied will help the students maximize their benefit from the other courses in the entire training program.
ALL ABOUT BSM
Two orientation sessions were conducted for the BSM Online Batch 02 students to give them all they need to know about Berean School of Ministry. Content of the presentations included: History and Purpose for Existence of BSM, Academic and Non-Academic Programs and and introduction to resources that will give students access to the ministries of Destiny City Church. It was emphasized that the student’s exposure to the culture of the host Church is an integral part of the training of the students.
ONLINE CLASS DRY RUN FOR BSM BATCH 02
A week away from start of formal classes, a dry run on how to profitably join and participate in the online classes in BEREAN.PH discord server was conducted with the seventy (70) plus students enrolled as the BSM Online Batch 02. A team of tech people were positioned to assist the students.
GETTING READY FOR BEREAN ONLINE CLASSES
Berean School of Ministry is a church-based training school of Destiny City Church. The natural setting for ministry training is the local church. It is because of our commitment to church planting and missions that BEREAN SCHOOL OF MINISTRY was started in 1986. We motivate, train and mobilize leaders for the great commission. Hundreds of our graduates are now serving as pastors and leaders in local churches, missionaries in local and foreign mission fields, and influencers and messengers of the
gospel message in the workplaces.
The restrictions due to the COVID19 pandemic led us to start BSM Online in 2021.We are not deviating from our fundamental purpose and philosophy of training as a ministerial school. Using technology and a workable platform, we make adjustments in methodology because of the current situation.
We are excited to start the second schoolyear of BEREAN Online and to tackle the challenges of the virtual setting for teaching and learning. The first few days or even weeks will be challenging both to teachers and students but it could also be fun!
