BSM STUDENTS JOINED SOLEMN ASSEMBLY AT FARM

In response to the nationwide call of the PGCAG leaders to hold a solemn assembly, the BSM students joined the one held by FARM last November 30, 2011. Their participation proved to be a valuable experience for the students in travailing in intercessory and warfare prayer.

BSM SPEECH POWER CLASS

Effective communication is a must for preachers of the gospel. Not all are natural communicators, but all can learn to become better communicators. This is taken into consideration in the BSM training program. This schoolyear, the students had the opportunity to have a special course on Speech Power under Joses Calusay.

BSM THEATRIX 2011

A supplementary course on Thearter Arts Acting was introduced last schoolyear   to help students improve in their communication skills.     The training challenges the students to discover their inner capacities of expressing themselves.  Joses Calusay, a    graduate of BSM last schoolyear, now a pioneer pastor in Santiago City, Isabela. Joses Calusay  offered hours during his vacation here in Roxas City to teach the students.

MINISTRY EXPOSURES IN CHURCHES IN CAPIZ

The BSM students were distributed to several churches in Capiz for a week-long exposure to town church ministries. Host churches included Assembly of God churches in Pilar under Pastor Maryjane Lucindo, President Roxas under Pastor Morita Reci, Ivisan under Pastor Jimena Villar and Panay under Pastor Pat Martinez.

BSM STUDENTS HIT CAPRICHO STREET

BSM  students hit Capricho Street, Roxas City  to knock on doors, make friends with people and  motivate them to open their homes for   bible study.   Teaching the word of God in a Bible study is the major method of evangelism in SOS. The key in all our evangelism effort is the sufficient exposure of the unsaved to the word of God.  The word will speak to their hearts and then they will begin to call upon the lord. Therefore, our effort is to get them to study the bible.

BSM STUDENTS AS CHURCH PLANTING TEAM

As future church planters in a  training school for church planters, the BSM students   are organized into a church planting team to  implement the total SOS church planting strategy in a target place in Roxas City. This ministry exposure is under the oversight of  Pastor Percival Navarro.
As an initial contact method, the students conducted  an evangelistic crusade in Barangay Mongpong Basketball Court last September 24, 2011 at around 5:00 pm.   The event was graced by the Presence of Barangay Captain   Wilson Acervo who  gave the opening remarks. BSM students Belinda Malaygay and Joenil Villaco shared their life testimonies on how they came to know our Lord Jesus Christ. The students also   presented a skit entitled ” The Three Crosses of Calvary: The cross of rejection, the cross of redemption and the cross of Believing”.   Bro. Felipe Aposaga was the preacher of the event  who preached on  SALVATION BY GRACE THROUGH FAITH.  A good number of adults responded to the invitation for salvation, after which the students prayed for people for healing.

BSM STUDENTS SERVED AT BSM ALUMNI 2011

The FARM,Inc. building was literally occupied by the hundred and four  BSM alumni last September 20-22, 2011. Representatives from each of  the twenty batches  of students since 1987 were overjoyed to meet each other again. The ground floor was both welcome/coffee area and session area. A photo shoot area was also prepared which became the busiest  area as the alumni took turns to have their pictures taken. The ground floor function room, the Quiver classroom at the second floor served as accomodation for the attending alumni. The third floor from the BSM dining area to the Calusay Residence foyer, and the Sunday Chuch School classrooms at the rooftop served as dining areas. Except for the BSM students the last two  scholyears, many of these alumni did not enjoy   the    current facilities at FARM.

The present batch of BSM students   offered their services  as food service crew and as manpower for other functions like documentation and registration.    They rendered joyful and faithful service  during mealtimes and break times for   the three day event.

BSM STUDENTS BACK TO BLUE

Students of this schoolyear opted to wear blue uniforms. This is a come back to the more popular color choice among earlier batches of BSM students. Last SY 2010-2011, the students sported gold uniforms. Click this for Photo Album in BSM FB Group

CHURCH MINISTRY EXPOSURE

An integral part of the training of BSM students is their exposure to our local church life and ministries. Students learn ministry better when they see patterns, observe others do them or when they themselves participate in them. Being a church-based school is a natural setting for such opportunities. On the second month of their training, the students were assigned and oriented in their first assignments in FARM church-based ministries. Ministry areas where they were distributed to serve include: As New People pastors in the Welcome Lounge, as Teachers in Sunday Church School, and as Members of the Music Team Ministry. Simultaneously, the students are being prepared to serve as church planting teams in a target area in Roxas City.

FIRST FEEDBACKS FROM STUDENTS

I thank God for giving me a chance to be trained in BSM. It’s very challenging!   Belinda Malaygay

As I have observed, BSM is sending equipped and highly trained soldiers of the living God. These are soldiers who know combat methods,   expert in map reading and  who know where to position themselves  to have the best view for possible targets.   BSM mentors help build people’s lives on a strong foundation, help them be in great shape and strength.  Joenil Villaco

My friend Brigitte Paulino (who finished training in BSM last schoolyear)  and I could witness that BSM is a choice training school for ministers. . Thank God for allowing me to experience and hear great teachings that would equip me for every good work. It’s a great privilege! Naty Haboc

BSM is such a great training school for church planters. Here, you will be equipped with God’s word.  At  the same time your character is being molded into a true servant of God. Glory to God!   Catherine S. Dapat

My wrong concept about ministry was   corrected. Now, I have a better understanding of it.  Richel  Palma

I’m blessed each time we have a class in Philosophy of Ministry.  I’m often teary eyed after each class session.    In our course on Basic Study Skills, I’ve learned how to become an effective listener and   how to use the Bible study tools for a deeper understanding of the bible.  Rowena Javier

BSM is like a mirror to me. Here, I’ve seen myself completely without any pretensions and discovered that despite of my past , God could still use me for His glory.  Sarah Labaso

BSM has a high standard of teaching and training. Our mentors are good examples for us. We always have a lot of assignments and this is a challenge for me to improve my study habits.   Normie Alvarez
