FUN IN SPEECH CLASS
BSM students are blessed with the services of Mrs. Julie Compuesto who offered to give them special classes in Speech and Intensive Grammar Review. BSM curriculum includes developing the communication skills of the future preachers and teachers. (But what are they doing in these pictures? Are they not supposed to be `speaking’, not `singing’. Ah, they must be doing vocalization).
A FRUITFUL DAY OFF
Last September 24, 2012 was supposedly our day-off here in BEREAN School of Ministry and I got alot of backlog responsibities to be ushered. But one of our dearest classmate Sis Ninfa, invited us to have an adventure in their farm at Municipality of Dao, Capiz. They offered us a lot of food and our stomachs were very full. As we explored, roaming around the place, we were amazed of the natural scenery and vegetation of the area. A lot of fruit trees and vegetables in the sorroundings and in fact, we brought some of the fruits and vegetables that we harvested from the place for consumption in the school. It was really a worth expedition and a joyfull one. Aside from having fun, It was also a fulfilling trip for the reason that God’s purpose was established. We were able to share the GOSPEL, the Goodness and Faithfulness of the LORD to those whom we’ve met. They were very hospitable and we are so much thankful for they have accepted us. But our greatest joy was that, they receive the Good News with a heartfelt acceptance. We are so much thankful of the Lord’s Grace and Mercy. May all of our action and effort be pleasing in His sight, a sweet aroma in the heavens and above all for His Glory and Honor. Unto Him only our LORD JESUS Amen. By: Samuel Ong Mercado.
BSM STUDENTS JOIN MOVERS YOUTH RALLY
BSM students served as small group leaders during the FARM Youth Rally last September 14, 2012. In the same event, more than 60 high school students from Culasi National High School attended for the first time. This resulted from the Values Formation Seminar that they conducted in the said campus for two consecutive Saturdays.
FIRST STUDENT- LED CHAPEL TIME
Tuesday, September 25th, 2013 – first school day of the week was the date for the first student-led chapel time at BSM. Gabby Corro, the student-preacher spoke from Romans 12:1-2 and challenged his fellow classmates to offer themsleves as liivng sacrifices to the Master. It was a heart-warming time for both teachers and students who attended.
E-LIBRARY FOR BSM STUDENTS
For the first four months of their stay in BSM, the students have been doing research the old fashion way only – using the printed page – reference books for Bible study. Early this month of September, three units of laptop were purchased for the school so students can also research electronically. The units have been configured to block Facebook and You Tube during weekdays. Should a student attempt to open his/her facebook account, a message like this will appear on the screen; “Are you not supposed to be studying?” Said sites are unblocked during week ends.
BSM STUDENTS CONDUCT VALUES FORMATION SEMINAR
Culasi National High School, situated at the port area of Roxas City requested the services of First Assembly Roxas Missions to conduct a values formation seminar for the entire high school student body. Armed with a half day seminar material full of creative ideas, the Berean students were trained and tasked to serve the request. Evangeline Palmerola, one of the BSM sudents who by experience is an Early Childhood Education teacher, said that the burden of their hearts is not just to teach the students what is morally right or wrong, but that they may have Jesus in their hearts. Unless the students have Jesus in their lives, on their own they have no power to choose and do what is right. May this endeavor open wider doors of opportunity for ministry to the young generation of our days.
THEY DO THINGS TOGETHER
BSM studwents do a lot of things togther. They sit in class, do research, eat, cook, work, wash clothes, cry, laugh and sing together. But last August 21, 2012, after a fun day at the beach, they did one more thing together: get a haircut.
OUT FOR A SPLASH IN THE WATER
After almost two months of rigid classroom sessions, research work, serious and sometimes heavy moments of group and individual mentoring, the BSM students finaly had a real break last Auguts 21st, 2012. Escorted by BSM Dean of Students Franz Vasquez and Ladies Dorm Monitor Normita Alvarez, they had a day out at the Flatrock Resort. The pictures below vividly speak they had a great and fun time together.
